Narciso Rodriguez learned his trade at Cerruti, Donna, and Calvin, and then launched his own line in 1997. In 2005, he became the first American to win the CFDA Women's wear Designer of the Year award two years in a row. His sleek, ultramodern collections combine clean colors and strict lines with luxurious fabrics. His notion of femininity abandons frills and excess in favor of strappy, streamlined ease. Embraced by red-carpet staples and dress-to-impress socialites, the line excels at slinky evening wear as well as day wear with a slightly mod vibe. In 2008, Rodriguez parted ways with backer Liz Claiborne and went the independent route.
The streamlined refinement and luxurious simplicity that Narciso Rodriguez brings to his couture collections is also evident in his fragrances. From the clean lines of the bottles to the graceful composition of the scents, Narciso Rodriguez fragrances reflect the designer's purity of style and meticulous attention to detail.
